Automatic sheet control system

Case Study
Project objective

The process consists of the Automatic Control and Identification of the Production and Paper Balance. For this purpose, an automatic paper reading and control system has been installed in all the printing machines, so that the paper can be perfectly tracked and recorded throughout the production process.

Local system applications collect machine information and serve as an interface with the operator. This information is recorded in the application's server database (approx. 2,000,000 records per work shift) and is accessible through a web portal for data management and reporting. Quality control option, analyzing the correct sequencing and print quality of 250 numberings/second with a resolution of 10 pix/mm.

  • Data: DB Oracle 11g.
  • Business: Visual web services Studio.Net.
  • Presentation: web portal ASP.Net.

Local workstation/Machines (12): Windows 7, user interface application (Visual Studio.Net).

  • Capture of machine status data: communications with machine automatons and digital signals to control PCs.

  • Data capture: image bar code reading cameras. TCP/IP communications. Saving of images of unrecognized codes.
  • Quality control application: by artificial vision: high speed linear camera, Matrox libraries and Visual application. Studio.Net.
  • Integral stock control
  • Product quality assurance
  • Effective communication between systems
  • Minimum downtime
  • Increased productivity
  • Tangible service improvements, including real-time decision making, repeatable quality, and clear identification of problems
  • Comprehensive data collection
