Product and process control and traceability

Case Study
Project objective

The system allows tracking of the manufacturing process in each of the processes and guarantees the traceability of the final product obtained with each manufacturing order.
Data collection is performed in several ways:

  • Manual data collection at all stations by means of operator panels.
  • Automatic data collection by Siemens automatons.
  • Data exchange with the factory server system.
  • Information queries through pre-designed reports.
  • Database: SQL Server.
  • Application: Active Server (ASP.NET) pages residing on a server with IIS (Internet Information Services) developed with Visual Studio.NET.
  • Executable via Internet from any plant computer. Monitoring via panels developed with WinCCFlexible and PCs developed with LabView.
  • Information network: Ethernet TCP-IP. Communication with other systems through file transfer in different formats.
  • Report generation.
  • Communication with SAP.
  • Label generation: Zebra printer and use of bar codes for automatic reading.
  • Machine data capture: Distributed signals in PROFIBUS network.
